WORSHIP : A TOOL FOR TRANSFORMATION

BIBLE PORTION:  Isaiah 6:1-13 INTRODUCTION: William Temple, the Archbishop of Canterbury, defines worship in this way: “Worship is the submission of all our nature to God. It is the quickening of conscience by His holiness; the nourishment of the mind with His truth; the purifying of the imagination by His beauty; the opening of the heart to His love; the surrender of the will to His purpose—and all this gathered up in adoration.” Worship is not merely about glorifying God. It is about bringing an inner transformation in the human being. Worship strengthens a person's relationship with God and transforms human thoughts to align with God’s thoughts. When we carry out the task given to us by God with excellence, we are able to receive promotions and blessings. Whatever position we are placed in, by performing that duty with honesty and integrity, we can glorify the holy name of God. We should never underestimate anyone based on the work they do. This is because the reality is that the task done by one person cannot always be performed efficiently by another. Likewise, we should never consider any work we do as insignificant, because it has been bestowed upon us by God. Whatever the task may be, we must perform it with excellence. Our ancestors, too, gave special respect to work.
